The project involves the realisation of a feasibility study, which aims at improving and increasing the efficiency of sustainable water management in the skiing regions of South Tyrol. Technical snow-making is becoming increasingly more complex as it must be harmonised with climate change, resource efficiency, environmental sensitivity, a growth in technology and automation. The study underlines the growing importance of sustainable water management and the need for a schedule that is not one-dimensional, but groups several interconnected aspects. The study analyses the water storage reservoirs in the skiing areas of South Tyrol focusing on criteria such as location, environment and ecology, multiple use of destination and economic return.
