The objective of the project is to carry out research activities targeted at developing automotive technological solutions that are aimed at (i) creating the basis for reducing pollution by means of the development of technological solutions that improve the efficiency of vehicles; (ii) increasing the competitiveness of the companies that participate in the project by means of the acquisition and the development of technical competences; (iii) creating new business opportunities (by means of direct and indirect measures), including by means of synergies with other business sectors (such as hydrogen systems, co-generation, agriculture, ecc.) and (iv) inserting South Tyrol into the EU Strategic Plan centring upon the use of natural gas, biofuels, and hydrogen as the energy vector of the future. The project intends to take the following lines of action in order to reduce CO2 emissions: (i) system integration (the application of innovative methodologies of target setting, deployment, and achieving); (ii) new generation fuels from renewable sources; (iii) driveline efficiency and reduction of weight; (iv) improvement of aerodynamic performances as well as well-being in terms of heat and sound.
