Mobility is one of the basic needs of modern society. Any constraint on our mobility will have far-reaching social and economic consequences. The aim of this research project is to develop a diagnostic device for battery packs to be deployed for example in electric vehicles. Information about the state of charge (SOC), capacity and general state of health (SOH) of the battery pack will allow the user trouble-free use of the batteries. Information gathered by the diagnostic device on the capacity of the batteries and the condition of the cells will lead to optimisation of the recycling process and even allow the exchange of individual cells in the cell package. Another part of the project will be concerned with the production of prototypes for demonstration and test purposes. The second phase of the project will focus on the transfer of expertise to businesses. This will ensure that competitiveness is maintained. Future stationary energy storage devices and the recycling of used batteries and accumulators will be top priority.
